Bars lose a fortune to things nobody can see

PourPoint exists to make that visible, cheaply enough that a single independent venue can afford it.

Spirit bottles lined up along a shelf

Beverage shrinkage is one of the few problems in hospitality where the money is genuinely large and genuinely invisible. A bar doing $115,000 a month typically loses $5,000–8,000 of it to over-pouring, comps, spillage and theft — and the P&L shows only that costs are “a bit high this month”.

The tools that solve this properly have historically been priced for groups and chains, or sold as a consulting engagement where someone drives to your venue every week with a clipboard and a scale. Both approaches work. Both put the answer out of reach for the independent bar that needs it most.

PourPoint is the same maths, delivered as software your own staff run on the phones they already have. Count in an hour, import your sales, and see exactly what left the building without being sold — with a dollar figure attached, sorted worst first.

We are not trying to replace a good bar manager. We are trying to give them a report they can act on before the money is already gone.

How we build

Four things we hold to

These are the arguments we have already had with ourselves, so we don't have to have them again.

The counting screen is the product

Every inventory tool has reports. Almost none of them are pleasant to use at 2am with a bottle in one hand. If counting is painful it stops happening, and a report with no data is worth nothing. So that screen gets the most attention.

One number, not a dashboard of them

An owner does not want a spreadsheet. They want to know what it cost them and which shelf to look at first. Everything we build has to shorten the path to that answer.

Software, not a service

The established way to solve this is to send a consultant to the venue every week. It works, and it costs accordingly. We think your own team can run this in an hour if the tool is good enough — and that the savings should stay with you.

Be honest about the numbers

A variance report can end someone's job. We show our working, flag small losses as noise rather than theft, and never present an estimate as a fact.

Where we are

PourPoint is early. The counting, variance, pour cost, recipes, invoices and ordering are built and working. Direct POS integrations, Bluetooth scale support and the multi-location roll-up are on the way.

If you run a bar and are willing to tell us what is wrong with it every week, we would rather have you as a design partner than a customer. Get in touch and say so.
